Bluebells

May 11, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Here in Wales we have had a fantastic warm, even hot some days April and he wild flowers in the lanes have revelled in it. I have never seen so many bluebells. They smother the banks and verges in a haze of purply blue. Add to that the white cow parsley or Queen Anne’s Lace as it is sometimes called which fringes the verge and it is a beautiful picture. We have identified the fairly rare heath milkwort up on our moor.
This has tiny dark blue flowers and was supposed to encourage cows to milk better in the old days.

Now the row has come and probably won’t stop for weeks. The grassis growing which pleases the farmers but they want to start cutting silage soon. No one is content.
Enough for now.
