Well, our neighbours have cut their hay. Ieuan up the road has cut his lower field, there is not so much in this. We are waiting a bit longer although the 5 day forecast is good for here. Thursday will be cloud but Fri better so I should think FF will come in then.
most of ours will be big bale silage, assuming everything gets organised.
We shall see. Lets hope and pray August has good weather the WHOLE month

Sorry you have a problem with your car,Harry. My husband, John has a Reliant scimitar sports car, rather old, but greatly loved. Unfortunately it has a problem where when it heats up when it is out, it will not start, once it has stopped. It has to cool down. This makes him reluctant to take it out. So it has hardly moved out of the yard this year. Rather a waste of insurance I think. He has asked various professionals for their advice but not come up with much.
I think he should sell it, but a certain son would not like that much !!

Have had the dent in the wheelarch repaired today and it looks good as new – thank goodness. It will only cost my brother £70.
The sky was beautiful tonight, shades of grey and lilac streaked with the glow of the setting sun. Unfortunately there was a fierce wind and rain showers.
We’re starting to wonder when or if we will ever get any hay made.

Have had a lovely weekend until 2 o’clock today. My brothers and sister in law came on Friday, it was Mary’s birthday and I cooked a lovely dinner with sparkling Jacob’s Creek to go with it. Yesterday, although it rained we went in to Carmarthen, had a look around the market and Robert bought a very nice picture for £70.
We we out to the Bunch of Grapes in town last night and had an excellent meal. It was a nice evening, dry and warm and when we got back here, they wre very intrigued to see all the mist rising up out of the valley like wisps of cotton wool.
I suppose we are used to it, but they seemed amazed.
Today it rained again and we didn’t go far.
Brother John was backing out to go, far to close to my car which he hit, his mirror hit mine, mine folded in but his smashed and he caught the top of my wheelarch. Just a small ding, but we are not pleased.
He Has a brand new Ford Focus, his mirror will cost about £100, he said immediately he would pay for the damage but it will be more aggro getting it fixed.
Never mind

Have had a lovely sunny, windy day today. The buiilders have been here, the roof is getting done. Ieun is shearing in the morning so let’s hope we have a dry night and morning; I thought I was getting my Braun Chairtopper car, wheelchair hoist next week but LTC Llanelli who will fit it tell me it will not be available until end Aug/beginning of Sept so was rather disappointed.
My birthday tomorrow. Am going to make a yummy chocolate cake, John cannot find the tin I want.
Never mind. Am looking forward to seeing my brothers on Fri, will be a busy weekend

Had a very good writers meeting tonight with lots of laughs.
They liked my vampire story which I have changed a bit since it was on here. Gina thinks I should send it to the BBC for their short story readings.
Otherwise we might get the roof finished this week.

I hope Ieun our neighbour will be able to get his sheep sheared tomorrow. He’s been waiting for days. That means John will go over and help. It is a frantic time as the shearers work so fast and John has to keep up with them rolling the fleeces and putting them in the wool sack. After Fanw will give them tea and sandwiches.
So I will take Kim out early so she gets a walk.
Hope Mark and Viv come Friday evening.

The day after my sister killed herself – I decided to kill him. He deserved it. It is in my power to make it happen slowly and insidiously. His death would be miserable, horrible and lonely.
I have the ability to send a death charge through his veins, short circuit round his brain and invade his nervous system. His T cells wouldn’t know what had hit them. And neither would anyone else.
It would be like an AIDS related illness, with the small part that I had played in it long forgotten. His immune system would be at war, with the good guys killing each other. I would watch from a distance, confident that the horror Terry Daniels had wreaked in the lives of my beloved twin and myself was avenged.
Paula and I were twenty five. We were not identical, but separated in birth by only three minutes. It was quite a rush job at the time. We were never dressed in matching outfits and few people knew of our complete bonding. Of course we had different friends and careers, but we always knew what was happening with our soul mate. I felt when she was tired, happy, hungry even and she did the same for me.

Tonight was the second time Catty has had her mouse stolen by a magpie. She came to the lounge door with a bunch of grass and dead mouse in her mouth, wanting to come in – which we would rather she didn’t. Then she jumps up to the kitchen window asking. She had dropped the mouse by the door and John saw the magpie swoop down and pick it up.
Catty could not understand where it had gone. She hasn’t learnt yet not to drop it.
She likes to bring it in, toss it round and play with it and then eats it. At least they are dead.
The soffits still havn’t come to finish the roof. I name and shame Kevin Thomas who ’said’ they were on the lorry on Wednesday.
