Summer’s here

sort of…  It’s been a lovely day here but the ground is still very wet and John and L are agreed that our fields are far too wet to cut.  Even on the flatter land the tractor is cutting up the ground too much.  This will cause mud to be caught up in the silage which will spoil it. 

As is it L has 30 acres down so we shall see how the weather is after the weekend.  It is a pity there has been so much rain but if it doesn’t get done then it’s not the end of the world, jus a nuisance.

Went to Carmathen, met Helen and we had lunch and our usual chat.  It was 20 in Morrison’s car park, really warm but back here on the hill down to 16.  The sun just makes everything more pleasant.   Bought some pansies as the summer plants look tatty, they havn’t enjoyed the rain like the fuchsias have.
