It’s been a lovely weekend here, weather and company wise. As I mentioned John’s cousin, his wife, son, daughter in law and their rwo children came down this way. They stayed in a Hoseasons lodge in a park farther south. They liked this very much.
They got here Sat morn at 11.00, I was expecting them at 12, but luckily I had laid the dining table, put dough on for rolls and was organised. And put champagne and wine in the fridge.
We thought they would go after lunch but we had our puddings, strawberry flan and ice cream on the terrace and it was so warm they stayed, chatting. Put the baby to sleep and said they would cut the grass for John.
While they were doing that I organised food for a barbecue and John lit it. I think they really enjoyed it and Ali seemed quite impressed.
The children were a delight, their Mum and Dad obviously adore them.
Yesterday we met them for lunch at the Roadhouse near Whitland and that was very good. We all had Sunday lunches which is something I havn’t had for years, lunch that is and a roast. After, we went in our separate cars down to Pendine beach. If you don’t know it, it is an enormous expanse of sand, when the tide is out, which it was. It was quiet, just a few families with children playing and they all went off the half a mile down to the sea. Tasha was running about and fell over so ended up running around with no clothes on like some of the other children. We all thought it was just beautiful and took lots of photos.
Unfortunately, when I went to put the electric blanket on last night I discovered a cat had shitted on the bed – ugh…. So there I was at 11.00 changing the bed. The cotton cover is really heavy so I washed it off and draped it over the taps in the guest toilet.
I have however just discovered that this morning – with the doors all open, a cat has shitted in the fern basket and kicked soil all over the bed cover.
Not happy… I think now it is Catty. Last night we blamed Small as he had been left in all day but he has never done anything like this. We thought he was miffed for being left in and not knowing where we were. He was very clingy to me last night.
So now we have to clear it up. John can sling the basket away over the ditch and then vacuum up all the soil.
Never mind.
