The weather is changing, we’ve had some glorious days. Those of you out there who get decent weather most of the time are used to it whereas for us here in west Wales it is a treat this year.
I’ve been clearing out the summer flowers and planting some pansies and bulbs. I got the pansies in Morrisons and they are lovely colours and good plants. The pots look better but getting ready for winter is depressing when we’ve had so little summer.
John took the Scimitar out for its pre winter run ann came back smiling as the gearbox is better after they fiddled with it. It’s still not perfect but better than it was. He really enjoys driving it. There are a few roads round here where you can ‘open up a bit.’
He thought one of the lanmbs had flystrike this morning and got it in. It was a sort of failed strike. The Vetrazin put on in early summer had checked it, but there was still a sore patch so the fleece has been cut off, TCP applied with Oxytet spray. The lamb just looks a bit untidy now. There are still flies about, it’s been quite hot. I got quite red on Friday sitting in the sun. It was good just to enjoy it for a short while.
If the weather is changing I shall have to get back to writing and doing jobs indoors. Going to watch Tess of the D’Urbavilles now. I really like Thomas Hardy.
