is back. Not literally. It’s what we call the neighbour’s heap of big bale silage that is over in the fields across the valley. They are mostly wrapped in a pale blue/grey plastic which really shows up and the way they are stacked up makes them look like the ferry, without a funnel. Black or dark green would be a better colour.
Am really tired after yesterday. Spent part of the day cleaning my car inside and out. Last night we went out to dinner with I and F as it was their Golden Wedding anniversary.
We’d decided to go to the Roadhouse at Whitland as that is good for disabled access and toilet facilities. They were coming here for six o’clock but at quarter past John rang up to see where they were. They had a visitor they couldn’t get rid of! so had an excuse then!!
Anyway it was a lovely evening and a pleasant drive down to Whitland but when we got there F saw two of her cousins who told her (and we could see) that there was a wedding party there. Plump bridesmaid ladies in gold satin strapless dresses…
One of her cousins said there was a pub just out of St Clears on the Pendine road so John drove round there but we couldn’t find it so we drive back into St Clears and F suggests The Forge just up on the A 40.
It was looking quiet there but open and ramped etc so Janet friendly. Quite late by then but good, quick service and Johna and I had plaice and chips. The fish was was excellent, better than it would have been at the Roadhouse but the salad not so good as there.
My request for half a portion of chips…well, there was so much, John and I couldn’t eat it all. F had lasagne which she couldn’t finish. Somehow we made room for puds. They had white chocolate cheesecake..too much again and I had walnut and treacle tart which was a huge treat as I should not and rarely, have that.
I drove home, it’s nice that it’s still light, bats and birds flying about, the road very quiet and we could see a mass of cloud piling up to the east.
It’s cloudy here, was brightening up but now drizzling. The sun’s out again, obviously changeable.
Ellie the ewe is having five days of anti-bioic injections. She had a sore place on her back, from rubbing it. It turned out she had some sort of allergic lumps which bleed. Flies had been attracted and she had strike, ie maggots so she was cleaned up and is much more comfortable, smelling of TCP. Whether it’s the anti-biotic going through to the milk or Elvis is being greedy with the sugar beet but he is scouring a bit, (diarrhoea). Better today but he has discovered the mineral lick as well.
I wonder how Vivi has got on going to work as there is a London Underground strike?

The Swansea Cork Ferry is back – literally!
Hi Jay, just thought i’d drop in and let you know that the people of Ireland and Wales got together, bought a ship, and are resurrecting the service again from 1st March 2010.
She’s got a pretty good-looking funnel as well!

Great news, and great achievement by everyone involved.
All the best,
Mick.
