Holly’s new ball

She has a new football with a carry strap.  I’ve given her Mark’s old one that I was using for exrcising,  it must be 20+ years old but she is so pleased.  I expect by the morning it will be down the bank and John will have to climb down and retrieve it.

We had our Scribblers meeting on Monday at Heather’s new flat in Cardigan.  It is a retirement apartment complex, no care involved.  I think she went there under a slight misconception.  She doesn’t need ‘care’ yet but it is like where Mum lived in Egham, only more official.    Mum had Linda, the manager who kept an eye out for her but Ican’t see the office people at Maes Mwldan doing that.  I told Heather that if you become ill or in infirm then you have to leave.

A daily lunch is part of the package and myself and Denise  stayed and went  into the dining room.  It was like hospital or average canteen food.  Not very good.  I had a ham salad, quite boring.  Cheap apple pie and custard and the custard had no sugar in it!

She said the rice pudding had no sugar in it either.  She’s been there five weeks and doesn’t feel settled yet, I don’t think it’s worked  out how she hoped.  She is on the third floor and the windows are so dangerous.  They push out and a small person could easily fall out, whilst pulling it in.  She does it with her stick.

I hope she  settles in.  She’s also farther from Cardigan town centre than she thought.
