Drizzle….

drizzle go away, I know you’ll come another day….It doesn’t look a good week, hopefully it will change.

Hollly is sitting on the mat by the front door, looking out. It tends to blow in the back door making puddles on the floor.   She had a nasty experience yesterday although it doesn’t seem to have had any repercussions.

We had a lovely long walk as it was such a beautiful day.  High cloud but warm so I wanted to make the most of it.  Just as we were coming along by Lloyd’s gate near here I saw neighbour P with her 2 dogs, Megan and Mabel.

Megan is a dobermanx and always hated nice, inoffensive Kim and would have tried to kill her given the chance.  P was blackberrying and as soon as the dogs saw Holly they raced towards her. P was abt 50yds away.  She was calling them, Holly turned and ran but they chased her and she ran back.  I was shouting at the dogs,  P managed to catch them, by which time Holly had run home.  I was furious.   ‘Bloody dogs,’ I shouted, ‘that’s her set back months now.’

When I got home she was sitting on the drive, looking a bit sheepish, but she seems all right.  If she has a dog experience I want it to be a nice one, to build her confidence.  When we were setting off she saw another dog, Nero coming, they put him on the lead, but she still couldn’t face him and we came home and waited til he’d passed.

I think she knows I always look after her.  Anyway P phoned and apologised.  John was a lot pleasanter than I would have been.

Holly has so little confidence, she is a different dog to a year ago, but still far from ‘normal.’

Gave the car a thorough wash yesterday, pressurerd all the green off it and the cow muck on the road.   That sticks like glue.
